Hi there,
I'd like to ask you if you could take part in a little survey: "How do you develop your Flex applications?" ... There are only 3 questions ahead for you ... http://bit.ly/vp5CY1
Thank you,
masu

Hi,
Will the result of this survey be published somewhere?
(and why ask about .mxml files but not the .as-files)

Hi Andreas, Thank you for your interest. I plan to release the results the end of December ... I have asked you to count the .MXML files because, I think, it is the best indicator to measure the size of a Flex application.

Hi masuland, thank you for sharing your results!
I don't think that only the mxml-files are a good indicator. My biggest application has for example 120 MXML-Files, most of them are Itemrenderer or SparkSkins, which I can delete and use the default skins/itemrenderer if I want to.

If you have other indicators in mind please let me know ... preferably, these indicators should be Microarchitecture-independent ... maybe there will be another survey next year.

OK, that is a bit difficult.
You could ask for the amount of actionscript files (maybe without events or just in the "view").
Or how about Lines of Code ( see http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lines_of_Code ). I use the small java app LinesOfCodeWichtel http://www.andreas-berl.de/linesofcodewichtel/ and manually added "as" and "mxml" as filetypes, but I am not sure if many developers would use an extra program just for a survey... you could ask your participants to estimate the amount of codelines.

Oh, I did? I have now idea how, but it doesn’t matter, probably. That’s the spirit of an open source community (the ubuntu factor or something), right?
Btw, your examples are a welcome contribution. Thank you for that!
You put a lot of work into the many versions of your apps!! Very well done :) Do you intend to write a version for rl2 as well?

If you were working on RL1, then for sure ;)
If there is nobody who would do it ... I would probably do it ;) just the same for Parsley 3 and Spring AS 2 when they will be released soon.
When will RL2 be released?

If by “working on RL1”, you mean strictly coding and architecting the framework, then,
I’m sorry to disappoint you, but my contributions were different in nature and for sure not that important as Shaun’s, Till’s, Stray’s, Joel's, Roberts' and many others' ;)
rl2 is beta by now.
For inspiration, there are 2 examples, I know of, out there:
