Best Practice for multi-tab applications?

I've been looking at an application recently that has exposed some weaknesses of my use of robot legs. I tend to inject models into my subviews to keep track of items, selected item, view settings, etc. This has worked great when I that tier of views is only used once. It completely breaks down though when I look at replicating that same top level view into multiple sets, each with different data.

Are there any examples or guides explaining what to do in this situation? Basically instead of singleton models being used globally and declared in the context, I need each new tab of the application to have a fresh set of models to maintain their state and data.

Thanks in advance!
